...because I sit at the bottom of my driveway and wait for school buses exactally 367 hours per year, and well, I can't think of anything better to do... ...I write!
Third child syndrome, AKA "I'm up for anything that works:" Aside from standing on the outside of his door and holding the door nob with my right, and clutching a wine bottle with my left, I haven't come across much that's worked for bedtime with child # 3! So, I've returned to all that first child crap and what the"good mommas" do...sing lullabies to get their children to sleep. I however, have my own that's been working a dream, ...or nightmare!
Last Resort Lullaby
By the battle of bedtime's second hour,
You're begging for sleep and just a hot shower.
Three trips to the potty and brought in a drink,
Please, little eyes would you finally blink.
Fifth time you've checked for the monsters under,
But, this time you'll bang louder than thunder.
You'll tell him its true, there's a monster there,
And hold up your hands and insist just to scare.
He's nasty and hairy, and hasn't been fed,
And he'll grab your ankle if you again leave bed!
Mama's House Rules
Finish your plate and eat all the green,Pick and tease but don't ever be mean.
Talk to God and drop to your knees,
Cover your mouth when ever you sneeze.
Use your "Please" and "Thank-yous,"
Remember reasons mommy spanks you.
Always share with a smile,
'Cuz greedy and selfish is not our style.
A "Sorry" with hugs, always mends,
Be sure to use them with all your friends.
I brought you in, and I'll take you out,
But, mommy's love you'll never doubt!
